Legal Intake Form

Free civil legal consultation and representation is available for people who were arrested, suffered abridgements of their First Amendment or other rights, or were otherwise injured as a result of the New York University and New York City Police Department responses to and assaults on the Gaza Solidarity Encampment at NYU’s Gould Plaza on April 22, 2024. Please note certain legal services may only be available to NYU affiliates.

The following is legal information, not legal advice. If you make a request for legal advice by filling out the webform below, we will connect you to a lawyer who will help you in evaluating any remedies that may be available - such as reporting police misconduct, litigation seeking monetary damages or pursuing policy change, or other such remedies.

Your request, and the information you give, will be treated as privileged and confidential to the maximum extent possible under the law, and an attorney or other legal worker will contact you promptly in response.

Finally, responding to a request for legal advice does not create a contractual relationship, or any obligation to take action on your behalf, unless and until you enter into a written legal services agreement. If that makes sense in your case, you can have that conversation with the attorney. For any questions and immediate assistance, please complete the form below and contact us at legal@nyuajp.org.
